OGP Local Afternoon: connect, learn and lead

ogp

Context and opportunity

Local governments are leading the way in addressing pressing local challenges—from climate adaptation and social inclusion to digital transformation and public service reform— by staying close to the people most impacted. At a time of rising polarization and mistrust in institutions, the value of open government is clearer than ever: local governments must strive to be more inclusive, accountable, and effective.

This OGP Local afternoon will showcase the power of local open government action through dialogue, storytelling, and peer exchange. It will bring together heads of government, public officials, civil society, and partners to reflect on progress, share lessons learned, spark new collaborations, and strengthen the network of leaders for the future.

Objective

To spotlight bold leadership and practical examples of open government at the local level, while giving space for dynamic peer exchange and collaboration that can inspire and inform reforms across regions.
