Open Government in the Basque Country
The Basque Country has been selected as one of the 5 new participants in the Open Government Partnership’s (OGP) Local Government Programme.
The Open Government Partnership – OGP has selected the Basque Country as one of the 20 regions worldwide to take part in its Local Government Programme. The candidacy has been jointly submitted by the Basque Government, the Araba, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa provincial councils and Vitoria- Gasteiz, Donostia-San Sebastián and Bilbao city councils, and supported by Innobasque - Basque Innovation Agency; Matia Fundazioa; Basque Youth Council – EGK; and the Basque Collaborative Law Association. The Open Government Partnership is an international benchmark organisation whose purpose is to assess and develop mechanisms to make governments “more transparent, responsible and accountable to the citizens”
